But in this instance, it was his latest trip home for the Christmas holidays that gave this pastor his most significant win yet.

The Florida pastor had purchased a EuroMillions Plus lucky dip and had thought nothing of it since the day of purchase. It was only until he decided to have the ticket checked and the clerk discovered that he had won £500,000.
Msgr John Delaney said:
“I went back to the shop and gave the ticket to the same girl I had purchased it from to be checked. Lo and behold, there was a message on the system to contact the National Lottery. So I knew at that stage I had won.”
The priest now jokes that God must be hearing his prayers. But he is rather serious about giving some of the money away as he would usually do with every other win. Msgr John believes that God has blessed him with his signature win, and will be sharing his winnings with those in need. Msgr John is truly proof that there are really good people in this world.
